This bill addresses HOA rules on address and house-number lights — the illuminated-address requirements a board can impose and the limits on them.
In short: Addresses HOA rules on address/house-number lights.
Passed Senate only Pro-homeowner
Precludes a condominium association and a planned community association (homeowner's association) from prohibiting the installation or use of a lighted home address device.?
For homeowners: Pro-homeowner: it bars associations from prohibiting a lighted/emergency-flashing home address device and confines them to placement rules that cannot defeat its purpose, subject to municipal lighting ordinances. The mandatory attorney-fee award to a party who prevails against the board adds enforcement teeth. Passed the Senate only.
